RESIDENTS in an area of Darwen are being warned about a prowler spying in windows after dark.
A hooded man has been spotted on two separate occasions peering into windows at Highfield Flats before running away.
He was first seen last week and again on Christmas Day at 2.40am. It is thought he is using the field behind the flats to get away.
Police cannot confirm his motives but are asking residents to be extra vigilant and report any suspicious characters.
A leaflet drop hs been carried out by police warning residents of the prowler and what to do if he is seen.
Sgt Mark Thackeray-Scott, of Darwen police, said: "A hooded figure has been seen looking through windows at Highfield Flats. One resident has heard them twice now. It is not concrete what his intentions are. There have been muddy footprints from the back fields each time. People should look out for these."
