A COMMUNITY group in the Ribble Valley is offering a something a bit different for those looking for a new hobby in 2007.
The Slap Happy Drumming group is starting up again on January 15 at Station House, Station Road, Whalley.
There are beginners and intermediate groups available for prospective drummers and around about 20 people are currently involved.
The community group uses the African djembe drum which is goblet shaped, 12 inches in diameter and provides an opportunity to meet new people and get active at the same time.
The drum originated in West Africa, where it became an integral part of the area's tradition and the new classes for beginners will run from 6.30 to 7.30pm every Monday with intermediates following on from them. For more information Kathleen Rimmer can be contacted on 01254 824398.
