Residents are being offered a free day pass, worth £10, to a gym facility in exchange for donating a toy to charity.
Staff at JJB, Haslingden Road, Lower Audley have started collecting toys for families who use Sure Start centres in the town.
Toys for children up to 18-year-olds are being sought.
Within Blackburn there are seven Sure Start centres with each one being used by more than 300 families.
