"Rogue trader" Vance Miller was arrested by police after more than 130 officers raided his kitchens business.

In the biggest operations carried out by Trading Standards in the UK, four different addresses were raided simultaneously at around 5am on Wednesday, primarily Maple Mill in Oldham, where Miller runs his business.

The other three premises were residential.

The 41-year-old, from Ramsbottom, has been the subject of various watchdog television programmes including Rogue Traders and The UK's Worst, which claimed thousands of people had bought shoddy kitchens' making the firm the single most complained about independent trader in the UK - Trading Standards has received 50,000 complaints.

Miller, whose two homes in Ramsbottom and Ripponden were both subjects of arson attacks earlier this year, was arrested alongside a 30-year-old woman, also from Ramsbottom, and a man and woman from Milnrow.

All four were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud and were yesterday bailed pending forensic examinations and Trading Standards investigations.

A Trading Standards statement said: "This action has been taken to protect the interests of consumers throughout the UK and protect the wider economy against rogue traders."
