A 62-year-old Brierfield man has been cleared of two child sex charges.
Malcom Duff was found not guilty at Burnley Crown Court of causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity.
The jury was unable to reach a verdict on two counts of indecent assault, said to have taken place when the alleged victim was aged between five and six.
Judge Michael Byrne discharged the panel on those counts.
The defendant denied all the allegations against him.
Duff told the jury he had never done anything indecent to the child.
The defendant, of Mansfield Grove, who has been married 22 years, said he had been devastated by the claims.
