A BLACKBURN man told police he was inspired to go out and steal a Dr Who voice changer after seeing it advertised on TV.
Blackburn magistrates heard that Mark Joseph Holden, 36, identified the toy as something he could sell on and stole one from WH Smith in the town centre.
Holden, of Preston New Road, pleaded guilty to theft of the £40 toy.
He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £55 costs.
