VISIT Rossendale' is the message behind a renewed tourism promotion campaign for the borough.
The six-month campaign launched this week aims to increase visitors to the Valley and boost the local economy.
Rossendale Council has commissioned Brighter Business Solutions to carry out the campaign. The Ramsbottom-based company fought off regional and national competition to win the project.
The campaign will involve enc-ouraging public and private sector bodies to work together to develop what Rossendale has to offer tourists.
A dedicated Visit Rossendale Hotline has been established as part of the campaign. Local tourism providers can also ring the hotline to pass on information about the events and facilities they provide.
Coun Darryl Smith, portfolio holder for tourism, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for us. We see tourism as an important income generator for the borough, which is why we have invested in this new service. We hope this campaign will bring new people into the valley to enjoy our spectacular scenery and fantastic hospitality.
"We know that Rossendale has lots to offer tourists but perhaps we haven't promoted ourselves enough in the past."
