PUPILS have planted hundreds of bulbs across Hyndburn to give the borough some flower power next spring.

Green-fingered children from Moor End Primary, Oswaldtwistle, are the latest youngsters to receive bags of bulbs from Hyndburn Council so the school's grounds can be carpeted in daffodils next year.

Headteacher Christine Jackson said: "This is a lovely idea. The children can't wait to plant all the bulbs, and are all looking forward to the spring to see the results of all their hard work."

Council leader Peter Britcliffe added: "Moor End children are among a host of schools and community groups involved in our great bulb planting project this year, where we have supplied the bulbs and they have supplied the people power.

"Like the children, I'm looking forward to the spring when we will be awash with daffodils in Hyndburn."
