Joe Swash wants to give himself to George Takei as a Christmas present.

The two stars have developed a close friendship on I’m A Celebrity… and the former ‘EastEnders’ actor says if he had to send one contestant a Christmas present, it would be the Star Trek star – and he would gift wrap himself as a unique offering.

He said: “I’d wrap myself up as a present to surprise him and then spend Christmas with him and his partner.”

George also opted to choose Joe as the recipient of his gift, saying: “He’s in London.

"It’s cold there and wet. I would give Joey a nice elegant warm woollen overcoat from Bond Street.”

Other celebrities were not feeling so generous.

Nicola McLean used the Bush Telegraph discussion to take another swipe at Dollar star David Van Day.

She said: “If I could buy a Christmas present for any of my camp mates, I would buy David a voucher for my cosmetic surgeon to sort his face out, because it still isn’t quite right.”

David also hit out at the outspoken glamour model, saying: “I would buy Nicola a gag.”

Several members of the group broke down in tears when asked to name the celebrity they would most miss.

The I’m A Celebrity… contestants were given a treat of scones, jam and cream while they had the discussion, which saw Brian Paddick, Dani Behr and Nicola McLean all breaking down in tears.

Brian had to be comforted by Simon Webbe when he singled out the former Blue singer – who he has previously admitted to having a crush on – saying: “I’m getting all emotional now.

"Simon we need more role models like you, we need more people like you getting the publicity so that young kids who don’t think they’ve got a chance can see there is a legitimate route to the top.”

Glamour model Nicola then cried as she chose Brian and Robert Kilroy-Silk, and confessed to Robert: “I never thought I’d get on with you at all and you have just, honestly you’ve been like a father figure to me.”

She later wept again when Carly Zucker chose her, saying she now thought of her as a “best friend”, despite thinking prior to the show that they wouldn’t get on.

An emotional Dani said that she would miss her room mates George, Nicola and Carly but it was Martina Navratilova she would miss the most.

Becoming tearful, she said: “I feel like we’ve had a strong bond from the beginning and we’re very similar.”

Robert also picked the former tennis star, while late comers David Van Day and Timmy Mallett chose one another.

Esther Rantzen singled out George Takei, as did Joe Swash, who praised his “granddad” figure.

He said: “Georgie boy, you feel like my granddad, I feel comfortable around you.

"When I see you smile it makes me happy, so I’m really, really hoping that we have a long relationship together. Love you to pieces mate.”

George chose Joe, joking: “The way you embrace me knowing that I’m gay and I have a husband whose relationship you could jeopardise. You are a rascal.”

Martina also chose the actor, praising his sense of humour and adding: “Whatever woman has you is a lucky woman,” to which he quipped: “If only you weren’t gay eh?”
