Clitheroe’s Sam Jackson officially entered the Love Island villa last night (26 July).

In the episode, Sam and some other new arrivals got to meet some of the villa’s ladies.

In his introductory video he said his best feature was his smile and he has a perfect success rate with the ladies.

In the episode, Sam took part in an ice-breaker and also tried to explain exactly where he was from- which left some viewers laughing.

The 23-year-old engineer said:  “I’m from Clitheroe, which is near Manchester.”

Chloe, one of the women on the show replied: “That’s near Burnley isn’t it?”

Eagle-eyed who understand the Lancashire area were quick to spot the blunder, with many taking to Twitter to comment on his choice of words.

One person said: “Hahaha Sam pulling out the classic “near Manchester” line has been the best part of this series

Another wrote: “Biggest lie on Love Island tonight was Sam saying he’s from Clitheroe “near Manchester”. Mate it’s near Blackburn. Don’t lie”

 

 

Chris Martin wrote: “Clitheroe ‘near Manchester’.

“Blackburn to Clitheroe: 11 miles. Manchester to Clitheroe: 34 miles.

“Geography not your strong point, Sam? Or maths?”

While he has only been on the show for a short amount of time, Sam has already made an positive impression on the viewers.

One person said: “Hello Sam! He is absolutely gorgeous.”

Another said he looked like a previous islander.

They wrote: “I swear Sam and Brad have the exact same face.”
