Radio One DJ, Jordan North, returned to his  “happy place” today as part of a Radio One breakfast segment.

The Burnley man took fellow presenters, Greg James and Vick Hope to Turf Moor football stadium for the ‘Summer Break Out Challenge’.

Greg, with the help of Radio 1 listeners, had to solve a series of clues which will be revealed along their trip and work out which word links all of the clues together.

Speaking on the Greg James radio breakfast show this morning (22 July), Jordan said: “I love [Turf Moor] and this is why I say it’s my happy place.

“It’s overwhelming how lovely and nice people from hometown are- we look after you up North.”

The “happy place” title originated on 2020’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, which North took part in.

To distract himself from a ‘viper’ challenge in the show, he chanted about his going to his “happy place” which was Burnley FC's Turf Moor stadium.

Burnley locals and businesses owners have been meeting up with the presenter and former I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here star while he’s in the town.

One locals said Jordan was more than happy to sign autographs and meet up with the queues of people visiting him.

Burnley FC were quick to get a snap of the presenters in the Burnley football tops.

On Twitter they wrote:

“A fantastic morning with @BBCR1at Turf Moor, do we reckon@gregjames & @VickNHope suit the Burnley tops?

“And great to see @jordannorth1 back in his happy place! #R1SummerBreakOut

Burnley FC Community wrote: “We were delighted to welcome  @jordannorth1, @gregjames and @VickNHope to Turf Moor today!”

197 Bistro and Bar near Towneley Golf Club also visited Jordan- and even gave him a special Bistro 197 inspired football top.

On Facebook they said: “Happy Place Happy Place Bistro 197..... and of course Turf Moor!”

Natalie Stevenson who works at 197 Bistro and Bar said: "I heard him on the radio this morning and I follow him on socials.

"I figured this was the time to tell him about 197!"

She added: "He's so nice and such a genuine person."

Luckily, they had the 197 Bistro top already lying around and decided to give it to North.

She added: "I'm upset we didn't have a t-shirt for our other restaurant 1955 Kitchen and Bar!"

New Era Enterprises Ltd on Yorkshire Street in Burnley also shared a picture of themselves meeting the star.

Writing to Facebook, they said: ”Wow,what a morning bumping into Jordan North down at the turf #happyplacehappyplace#NewEra#R1SummerBreakOut”
