LANCASHIRE stars have been transformed into beauty salon professionals as filming gets under way for a new celebrity TV show set in a spa.

Shameless actor Jody Latham and former Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan will be put through their paces by top hairdresser and beauty expert Herbert Howe, who will teach them the tricks of the trade in the Channel 5 show, Celebrity Super Spa.

They will learn everything from how to wax, give vajazzles, fish pedicures, tattoos and even ‘vampire’ facials.

At the end of the series they are even expected to walk away with certificates which could prove useful to their careers should they want to take a break from the limelight.

The show, which features six celebrities, including chef-turned one-time UKIP candidate Rustie Lee and TOWIE member James Argent, is expected to be broadcast this autumn.

It is the latest role for Burnley-born Latham, 29, who left Shameless in May after the last-ever episode of the show was broadcast.

He has since appeared as ex-convict Steve-O Malone in hit TV series Waterloo Road and is currently acting in a drama set around a dysfunctional family that is due to be released in early 2014.

The filming for Celebrity Super Spa will be a welcome break for the actor, who only recently settled a financial case about the amount of mon-ey he should repay after being convicted of prod-ucing cannabis in 2011.

Ms Flanagan, best known for playing Rosie Webster in Corrie for 12 years, left last year to pursue other interests.

The former student of Blackburn’s Westholme School is set to feature in several films over the next year, including ‘The Other Side of Love’, a drama about a love affair gone wrong.
