PLANS are in place to create a special drama festival in Oswaldtwistle.
It is hoped to stage six different plays on six consecutive nights at the town's Civic Theatre.
And now organisers are asking for recommendations from culture vultures on what they would like to see performed at the festival.
Organiser Gayle Knight hoped to put a similar event on last year but was forced to cancel.
She was hoping to involve local amateur dramatics groups but this time around she has pledged to hire professional outfits.
Ms Knight said: "I know people are asking for this type of thing.
"There are people out there who want to see something that is a bit more cultural. "
She said that she expects to put on a range of different plays that would include a drama, a farce, Shakespeare and maybe something for youngsters.
Because of the quick turnaround that would have to be achieved to perform all of the plays she said musicals would be unsuitable.
