YOUNG people are being invited to audition to take part in Christmas shows.

Oswaldtwistle’s Civic Arts Centre is starting auditions for Aladdin and A Christmas Carol over the next two weekends.

ReAct Academy, which is based at the centre, is looking for young people aged between six and 16 to audition for singing, dancing and acting roles in Aladdin, to be performed on Friday and Saturday December 7 and 8.

The academy will also present A Christmas Carol, as a reduced version with a modern twist with auditions open to eight to 13-year-olds only.

Aladdin auditionees will need a prepared song of either pop or musical theatre, either unaccompanied or to a backing track brought.

Aladdin auditions, which includes dancing, are on Sunday September 9 at 2pm. The casting will take place during the following week and rehearsals are every Sunday afternoon from September 16.

Then on Friday, September 14 at 4.30pm there are auditions for A Christmas Carol, to be performed on Friday and Saturday November 23 and 24.

Rehearsals will be on Friday evenings from 4.30pm to 7pm. Call Gayle Knight on 01254 398319.
