FRIDAY night was party night and the flat caps were out in force as the Lancashire Hotpot brought their own version of folk to the festival.

For those not familiar with the band, imagine Peter Kay meets The Pogues and you’re getting there.

This wasn’t a night for the shrinking violets, the audience is almost as much a part of the show as the band itself with pints being raised high into the air and congas winding round the room.

Favourites such as Chippy Tea and He’s Turned Emo became massive sing-alongs and songs from the band’s new album Pot Sounds were equally well received.

The Hotpots have cleverly found a style which makes you laugh and makes you dance.

It’s folk but not as we know it — and it makes for a reet good do!
