From Sheila Brennan, Bombay Street, Blackburn.
A vision of beauty by river and stream
Skimming pools where rushes are green,
Your movement on water makes rings.
Darting through grasses with gossamer wings,
Water lilies beneath you look up,
Where you rest on each dainty cup.
On your journey past birds nest,
The flowers where bees hover and rest.
In the country we see you, rarely in town
A reminder of summer, in nature's crown.
