CORBIERES is probably the best bit of wine country in the Languedoc region of southern France close to where the hills of the Pyrenees meet the Med between Marseilles and the Spanish border.
This one is a juicy, smooth mix of earthy Carignan, muscly Mouverde, Syrah or Shiraz and Grenache.
Let it breathe for about an hour and enjoy bags of berry fruit, spice and a hint of vanilla.
GRAND RESERVE CORBIERES 2003, £7.99, Morrisons.
