PENDLE Opera this week presents Spring Is In The Air, featuring a new string quartet from Burnley Music Centre and guest artist soprano Stella Whitehouse, as well as its own members.
The quartet was formed for a recording for the Lancashire Music Service Titanic project, but the players chose to continue working together and now perform across Lancashire – including the Mayor of Whitworth’s charity ball.
They will be performing a variety of music varying from Arrival of the Queen of Sheba to Negro Spirituals.
* Spring Is In The Air, Brierfield Methodist Church, Friday, April 1, 7.30pm. Tickets including refreshments cost £7.50, children £3, from Ann Dixon 01282 424039 or on the door, with proceeds going to the hospice.
