After years of touring with a full band, with all the expense and hassle that can entail, Kenny Anderson – aka King Creosote – has decided to pare things down and is embarking on his first solo tour.
The Scottish troubadour and Fence Collective founder has turned out more than 40 releases since 1998. The latest, Flick The Vs, came out on Domino last year.
Never one for resting on his laurels, Anderson’s last live appearances at Fence Records’ Homegame festival in Anstruther saw him playing an unreleased album and encouraging audience members to record it on whatever devices they had to hand.
He’s obviously been giving serious thought to the radically changing music industry and how musicians must adapt to survive.
King Creosote is at the Grand, Clitheroe on Tuesday, April 13. Advance tickets £8.50 (£10 on the door).
