MAYOR of Blackburn with Darwen James Hirst showed off his driving skills when he took a spin on the dodgems at the town’s Easter Fair.
Meanwhile, his chauffeur Andrew Thomson took the wheel of another dodgem car carrying the mayoress Maureen Pickup.
Coun Hirst opened the historic fair in Witton Park on Thursday afternoon and the fun for all the family is set to continue throughout the holiday season.
With more than 30 rides and attractions, the park hosts the largest bank holiday fun fair in the North West, and new rides this year include the white-knuckle Superbowl, Rock ‘n’ Roll Express and Caterpillar coaster for kids.
Visitors can take in all the fun of the fair from 11am to 8pm until Sunday, April 11, and admission is free.
