EVERYONE'S favourite Welsh girl and Essex boy were back last night when the second series of Gavin & Stacey was repeated on BBC1.

I doubt there are many G&S fans who haven't already seen each episode at least half a dozen times, but who cares? It's so good it's worth watching again.

In the first episode we saw Gavin and Stacey coming home from their honeymoon and Nessa announcing Smithy was the father of her unborn baby.

Mum Pam (Alison Steadman) was especially funny greeting her "little prince" at the airport with a banner that had taken her ages to make because the big pen made her forget how to spell Stacey. Comedy fans who missed this brilliant series the first time will be delighted at this second chance to understand what the rest of the nation has been banging on about.

But it's only fair to issue a warning. Be prepared to punctuate every sentence with catchphrases from the show including "Oh! What's Occurring?" and "Anyone ordered a Chinese?"

Gavin & Stacey is quite simply the best thing on the box since Alan Partridge.

Even if you've seen it 100 times already it's still preferable to anything else on at the same time.

Cancel your plans for the next six Fridays – you won't want to miss a moment.
