IT WAS the last ever Faking It last night and you've got to admit they went out with a bang.

From the TV programme which taught chavs how to be posh and macho men to be drag queens came perhaps the genius masterstroke - a cleaner into a burlesque dancer.

Shy Sharon Pallister, who was so meek and mild she barely left the house (apart from the odd game of bingo with her hubby), was persuaded to hag up her mop and become an erotic dancer.

Out went the feather dusters and in came nipple tassels and frilly knickers.

But it wasn't an easy transformation.

"I feel invisible when I go out. Sometimes I just go into work and I just cry and think I can't do this anymore," she said at the start of the programme.

But after some intensive training in the seductive art of burlesque by Britain's top dancer Immodesty Blaize she was coaxed into the limelight.

"I wanted to create the ultimate bombshell," said Immodesty. "She had to sashay around like she'd been taking her clothes off for people all her life."

I don't know about that - Sharon certainly looked like she was about to cry when she first saw Immodesty strutting her stuff - but by the end she wasn't half bad.

"It was terrifying. My whole body was trembling but it was amazing.

"I never thought I would feel so good about myself and I'm on a real high. I owe Immodesty so much."

All together now... ahhh.
