    FIREFIGHTERS were called to Blackburn Rovers' Ewood Park ground after a bin in the Jack Walker stand set on fire at 2am yesterday. It is thought to have been set alight by a cigarette discarded during a function in the stand. Converted for the new archive

    TRADING standards officials are calling for a complete ban on the sale of single fireworks following a rise in complaints from the public. Last year 35 people complained about youngsters causing problems with fireworks compared to 25 the previous year
