THE M62 MOTORWAY (EASTBOUND AND WESTBOUND CARRIAGEWAYS AND SLIP ROADS AND WESTBOUND LINK ROAD) AND M57 (SLIP ROADS AND SOUTHBOUND LINK ROAD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2017
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited (Company No. 09346363) intends to make an Order on the M62 and M57 Motorways in the Districts of Knowsley, Halton and St Helens in the County of Merseyside to enable lighting replacement works, removal of traffic signal loops, cycle improvement works, and routine maintenance; to be carried out in safety a) The Order will ban all traffic from the following:
i. the M62 eastbound carriageway, from the last point where the junction 6 exit slip road leaves the carriageway, to the first point where the junction 6 entry slip road joins the carriageway;
ii. the M62 westbound carriageway, from the last point where the junction 6 exit slip road leaves the carriageway, to the first point where the junction 6 entry slip road joins the carriageway;
iii. the M62 junction 6 westbound exit slip road;
iv. the M62 junction 6 eastbound entry slip road;
v. the M57 junction 1 southbound exit slip road;
vi. the M57 junction 1 northbound entry slip road;
vii. the M62 westbound to M57 northbound link road;
viii. the M57 southbound to M62 eastbound link road. The works are expected to take place overnight between 2100 hours and 0500 hours (continuing to 0700 hours on Saturday and Sunday mornings) during a period starting on Sunday 8 January 2017 and ending on Friday 31 March 2017. However, if necessary, work may start and continue between the same times on subsequent nights or continue until completed. Diversion routes via alternative junctions of the M62 and M57 motorways and local roads will be well signed. The prohibitions will not apply to emergency services, works, winter maintenance, or traffic officer vehicles. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will be indicated by traffic signs.
