CITY OF BRADFORD METROPOLITAN DISTRICT COUNCIL PROPOSALS TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF PLACES FOR PUPILS AT BEECHCLIFFE SPECIAL SCHOOL KEIGHLEY. THIS WILL INCLUDE AN EXPANSION OF THE TYPE OF SEN PROVISION AND THE EXPANSION OF THE SCHOOL ONTO AN ADDITIONAL SITE AT ELLAR CARR, PUPIL REFERRAL UNIT, BRADFORD. Notice is given in accordance with section 19(1) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 that the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council intends to make to the following prescribed alterations: Beechcliffe School Greenhead Lane Keighley BD20 6ED a co-educational, generic community special school catering for pupils aged 11 to 19 years who have a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

The proposals are to increase the number of pupils on the roll of Beechcliffe School from 144 places to 224 places and expand the type of SEN provision delivered by the School. The School will expand onto a split site to create an annex of Beechcliffe Special School on a satellite site at Ellar Carr Road Bradford from 24th February 2020.

The Council intends to close the Ellar Carr Pupil Referral Unit, Ellar Carr Road, Bradford BD10 0TD on 14th February 2020 and to deliver provision for children and young people with Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs from Ellar Carr Road as an additional site for Beechcliffe School with effect from 24th February 2020.
