God bless George and thanks you where my P. E. teacher at Bangor Street in the 50s and then took me under your wing with Blackburn harriers, we lost contact when i pursued my football carrea via Clitheroe F.C. and Tranmere Rovers F.C. but i will never forget when my daughter became an athlete in the late 80s you still remembered me from that golden age of the late 50s and early 60s when you phoned 1 night and your opening statement was HELLO JOHN THIS IS A VOICE FROM THE PAST Thanks George and God Bless

I remember George from Harriers days in the early 50's accompanying athletes on meetings around the North. He was a devoted coach. RIP George.

I remember George being my pe teacher at Blackburn tech and grammar school and later social studies at Blackburn technical college. He would take us for a spud pie in the Witton inn. Goodbye George from Tony cope
