Janet Grant August 3rd, 2018
Sending much love and condolences to the entire family from Janet Grant, Jean's Canadian girlguide penpal. I had hoped to call in personally in Lancashire this trip and say a thank you to her parents who were so incredibly kind and generous to me when I visited from Canada at age 18. As a result of Elsie's and Geoff's initial generousity that year and following Jean for a few days to her new university in St. Andrew's, I too studied in England the following year. Thankfully I had spoken to Geoff in the early 2000's to say thank you and to get Jean's Turkish address (which I suspect when I posted a letter that I got totally wrong.) I came to St. Andrew's this week to see if I could track down Elsie's daughter Jean whom I lost touch with after 1975. St. Andrew's University Alumni office doesn't have Jean's up to date information (which is strange since she has also published books like myself), so I am reaching out to see if anyone in the family could check if Jean would like to re-establish contact with me.
