Paul Collingwood and Eoin Morgan were in charge of the England comeback at tea on day one of the first Test against Pakistan.

Having won the toss and opted to bat first at Trent Bridge, England found teenager Mohammad Aamer too hot to handle and were in some strife at 118 for four when the fifth wicket pairing came together.

Alastair Cook was the first of Aamer's three victims when he edged to slip for eight, with captain Andrew Strauss (45) and Jonathan Trott (38) following.

Kevin Pietersen, without a competitive innings in nearly a month, made just nine before playing on to Mohammad Asif, but some solid and occasionally aggressive play from Collingwood (27no) and Morgan (44no) saw the home side to 190 for four at tea.
