Former England footballer David Seaman and actor Gary Lucy both hung up their skating boots tonight after failing to impress in Dancing on Ice.

The goalie was booted out after receiving the least amount of public votes while former Hollyoaks star Lucy lost the skate off with all four judges choosing to keep actor Sam Attwater in the competition over him.

As he exited the ITV1 show Seaman, who is engaged to skating partner Frankie Poultney, said: "We've had a great time".

Lucy said he was "obviously disappointed".

"It's the best show," he added. "A great privilege to work with some great people. It's a fantastic show, a great thing to be part of."

Former EastEnders star Attwater skated to Bruno Mars' Marry You, also with his real life fianc Vicky Ogden.

The pair, who wore wedding-themed outfits, were joined on the rink by Ogden's children, with Olympic skating star Jayne Torvill saying they "stole the show".

Actress and singer Suzanne Shaw was stunned to win the highest score of the evening, receiving 35.5 out of 40 from the judges.

The former Hear'Say star, who won series three of Dancing on Ice in 2008, was told hers was the best performance of the night.

Also receiving high praise was last year's champion, Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle, who was first up on the rink with a Tarzan-themed piece.

But f ormer EastEnders star Todd Carty did not impress so much with his Cuban-inspired performance.

He was awarded just 16.5 points but clearly fared better in the public vote.

The actor, who managed to skate right off the rink during his time in series four, said: "It's lovely to be asked back after my spectacular exit."

ITV announced last year that it was axing the show after this, the ninth series.
