Sacha Baron Cohen is in talks to star in and develop a new drama, tentatively titled The Lesbian.

The Ali G filmmaker is rumoured to be producing the movie through his Four By Two Films company for Paramount Pictures.

The film is inspired by Cecil Chao's real-life story, reported Deadline.

The Hong Kong billionaire made headlines around the world following reports that he offered 65 million US dollars to any man who could marry his lesbian daughter, after she had a French church bless her relationship with her longtime girlfriend.

Sacha - who previously played Admiral General Haffaz Aladeen in The Dictator - is tipped to star as the billionaire.

The British comic, who has reprised his voice role as King Julien XIII in Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted, next appears in Tom Hooper's Les Miserables as rowdy bar owner Thenardier. He is also expected to star as late Queen frontman Freddie Mercury in an upcoming biopic.
