Bradley Cooper has teased that Guardians Of The Galaxy will surprise film fans, because it may be funnier than they expect.

Marvel's latest superhero film features a group of "misfits", including a talking angry raccoon, a tree-like character and a green alien, who team up to save the world.

The Hangover star, who voices Rocket the raccoon, told in a special featurette: "There's a lot of humour in this one and a lot of heart. There's nothing like it, that's for sure."

As for his character, he said: "Rocket is a raccoon with real anger issues."

Zoe Saldana, who plays warrior alien Gamora, added: "They (the Guardians) were thieves, bounty hunters and were neglected. Gamora has a heart of gold. Even though she's lethal and very, very rough. It's not a typical superhero movie."

The film, directed by James Gunn, also stars Vin Diesel as tree-like Groot, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer and Chris Pratt as the group's leader, Peter Quill/Star-Lord.

"We all meet at prison and end up bonding during a prison break," Dave explained.

Chris added: "Peter's the only human in this crazy world. They come together to save the world. He doesn't have superhuman strength or the ability to fly, but he uses his cunning and his charm to get himself out of situations."

And Vin, who voices Groot, said: "Groot is one of the strangest and most interesting characters Marvel has ever put on film."

The stars of Guardians Of The Galaxy are expected to attend the film's European premiere in London on July 24, before it is released in UK cinemas on July 31.
