HOW do you recreate the vocals and stage charisma of the late Freddie Mercury?

It’s nigh-impossible and so original Queen band members Brian May and Roger Taylor have put together The Queen Extravaganza.

The official Queen tribute show is a spectacular touring concert show designed to take the music and live experience of legendary rock band Queen and bring it to generations of fans.

Drummer Roger Taylor hand-picked the band members from thousands of auditionees during a unique online talent search with video submissions generating more than 10 million views from around the globe.

Roger Taylor told the Daily Echo: “The Queen Extravaganza is a brand new show specially designed to enable new fans, together with fans of old, to celebrate the music of Queen in a heart-stopping event.

“It’s very spectacular, and I think people will be truly shocked and amazed at the level of vocal and instrumental performance from these brilliant musicians!

“When Marc Martel sings it sounds as if Freddie has entered the room.”

Vocalist Marc Martel of the band said: “We have been overwhelmed by the fan response to our first ever UK tour and so excited that more dates have been added – we can’t wait to meet our UK fans.”

The one-off 90-minute UK show arrives at the O2 Academy Bournemouth tomorrow night and features Queen’s classic hits and some surprises. Capturing the design and excitement of Queen’s legendary live performances, the production will be enhanced with rare video footage.
