Charlotte Church says she has no interest in being famous.
The former child star slammed today's popular music, saying it was written by "committee".
And she told Metro that she was more likely to pick up a copy of the New Scientist magazine than a gossip mag these days.
"A lot of what's mainstream now, I don't get it, I can't engage with it," she told the newspaper.
"It's written by marketing committees, which is totally the antithesis of what music is supposed to provide for people."
Charlotte said she didn't want to promote her new music on chat shows.
"I'm not interested in doing all those frigging daytime shows and saying 'Hey guys! Here's what I'm doing now!'," she said
"Because most people wouldn't get it. I've had a crazy life and most of it has been being famous - which I don't mind, to an extent, but it really complicates things.
"I don't want to be a public person just for the sake of it."
But Charlotte said she didn't mind being criticised, because she had developed skin "like a rhino".
