Simon Cowell has revealed that he has enjoyed working with the new judging panel on The X Factor USA.
Former Destiny's Child singer Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio have joined the TV mogul and returning judge Demi Lovato on the third series of the singing show, following the exits of Britney Spears and LA Reid.
"I've wanted to work with Paulina for years and Kelly did the UK show for me and did a brilliant job," Simon told TheWrap.
"So, it was a very easy decision to put these three together and you hope it's going to work and they're going to get on well. And luckily they did."
Demi added: "The whole cast this year, there's something really special about it. And when we come together I feel it's actually a family, which is actually so rare and I feel like it never happens, especially on these shows."
Kelly revealed that there are playful antics between Simon and Demi, saying: "We have to play referee. They'll pour water on each other, take each other's microphones..."
Simon said he wanted to use Britney and LA's departures as the chance to "differentiate" The X Factor USA from other TV talent shows. Mario Lopez is also back as host without Khloe Kardashian.
"I just thought that all these shows were beginning to blur into the same show," he added.
The X Factor USA returns to American screens on September 11, followed by ITV2 in the UK.
