NEW Shakers trialist Ahmed Deen could be about to play the biggest match of his career today, as he prepares to line-up for Chris Casper's side against Everton.
The 22-year-old full-back is hoping to impress enough to earn a deal at Gigg Lane, and earn a second crack at league football.
Deen was on the books at Peterborough United before a whistle-stop tour of several non-league clubs, including AFC Wimbledon, Hornchurch, Aldershot and St Albans.
But it was from his performances on the international stage that Deen was recommended to Shakers director of football Keith Alexander.
The quicksilver defender is a Sierra Leone international, and is currently coached by former Torquay United boss Leroy Rosenior, who pointed him out to Alexander after playing some recent friendly internationals in England.
"Leroy suggested that we take a look at Ahmed," Alexander said. "He did well against Altricnham, and it will be interesting to see how he fares against better players at Everton.
"He has got a lot of pace, which is very important for your wing-back, and it is obviously an area of the team where we are lacking."
