VALE of Lune achieved the double over Fleetwood to extend their unbeaten league run to an impressive six games.
It took the visitors over a quarter of an hour to break down a tenacious Fleetwood defence, when hooker Gavin Barton battled his way over for his way over for an unconverted try.
Straight from the restart the Vale added to their score when prop Andrew Sutcliffe completed a slick handling movement with a try converted by Andrew Garnett.
The final try of the half came just before the interval when replacement prop Dave Halliwell blasted over from close range to complete a trio of tries for the front row.
Vale soaked up early Fleetwood pressure before Ian Bird cantered over for a try in the 48th minute.
Leading try scorer James Curran got into the act with his 20th try of the season, converted by Garnett in the 68th minute.
Andrew Richardson nipped over from a tap penalty for a try to complete a highly satisfactory result for the Vale.
The final league game of the season will be on April 22 at Powder House Lane against Winnington Park.
This Easter weekend Vale A and Vikings will be at home against Belper, kick off 3pm on Saturday.
Earlier in the day Vale Vets will play against a side from Barcelona, kick off 11am.
Carnforth will be the visitors on Easter Monday for the annual Andrew Crowe memorial fixture against Vale A, with the Vikings playing Carnforth 2nds, both game kick off at 3pm.
Spectators are welcome.
