Time to stick to the game plan

HAVING won their last three home games, the Tigers travel down to Brickfields to take on Plymouth Albion on Saturday, believing they can grab a win and keep alive their hopes of finishing above what would have been the drop zone.

But if they are to do that they will have to prove they can take their recent impressive home form on the road.

"We have a hard, honest team where guys play for each other and to a plan," said player-coach, Tim Fourie "The big test is, can we take the kind of form we produced at home against Penzance, Exter and Doncaster to Plymouth?

"I'm taking nothing away from them, because they have good players, but they don't have internationals in every postion like Harlequins.

"Yes, they have guys like Alfie Too'ala, Martin Schusterman and one or two others, but they don't have a team full of superstars.

"So, if we believe in the structures we have put in place and go out and execute them exactly the way we do in training, and exactly as we did against Penzance, Exeter and Doncaster, we can beat Plymouth.

"Some of the Doncaster guys admitted it was very difficult to break through our defensive systems and they became frustrated, so we have to replicate that down in Plymouth "If we do we have every chance of winning.

"But we have to to stop Too'ala getting any kind of momentum going from the base of the scrum and carrying the ball off the lineouts. We have to stop him at source with solid tackling.

"Then when the ruck has formed I want no more than the tackler and two others involved, otherwise we run the risk of giving away stupid penalties.

"We'll go down there confident and with a goal in mind to finish 12th "We don't want to go into next season with people saying we shouldn't be there because we should have been relegated.

"We are on 38 points, Newbury are on 41. If we can beat Plymouth and Newbury lose at Pertemps Bees, then we can achieve our goal of avoiding the bottom two places."
