Ashton leaves Wigan

Wigan Warriors today announced they have released full-back Chris Ashton with immediate effect.
Chairman Maurice Lindsay said: "Chris was anxious to commence his Rugby Union career with Northampton.
"It is pointless having a player in the squad whose mind is elsewhere.
"We decided to terminate his contract with us and he will join Northampton immediately."
