PAUL Rowley’s thoughts on Leigh Centurions’ defeat at Halifax at the weekend.
“We started off with a possible try opportunity when they called us back for a forward pass.
“That would have been a great start to the game and unfortunately it went the other way and they got the great start.
“Again Halifax showed what a classy side they are and the worse thing about it all was that they scored the tries and they’ve got a great goal kicker that was putting them over from left, right and centre.
“There were periods in the game where we did apply pressure and got over the whitewash but not for long enough and our completion rate was something like 30 percent in the first half. The penalty count was massively against us again. It’s becoming a trend – it’s a lesson that we need to learn and learn fast.
“You can’t give quality sides like Halifax a lion’s share of possession.
“If we’d had the lion’s share, if we can turn that around and get the possession then every side is vulnerable in this division.”
