LEIGH Centurions have signed Hull FC outside back Nick Rawsthorne on a one-month loan deal.

Head Coach Neil Jukes said: "I'd like to thank Lee Radford and Motu Tony at Hull FC for their assistance in helping us out with our clearly stretched playing roster.

"Nick is a player we identified a number of weeks ago when he was playing for York and given we were aware Curtis Naughton was going to Australia we were left with only two genuine wingers in our squad.

"It was important to get some strike back on the wing and Nick will come into contention for this week's game against Widnes Vikings. He has a phenomenal strike rate and will ease the pressure on the whole back line."

The 21-year-old former Leeds Academy product made his Betfred Super League debut for Hull FC against the Centurions in May and has since made two further top flight appearances, scoring two tries in Hull's narrow defeat at Catalans and kicking two goals in their victory over Wigan Warriors.

Rawsthorne joined Hull FC in the close season from Halifax where he scored four tries and kicked eight goals in seven games after his debut against Bradford Bulls in August 2016. He made his senior debut earlier in the 2016 campaign on loan to South Wales.

In 2017 Rawsthorne has played for York and Doncaster on loan and in his senior career so far he has scored a total of 14 tries in 19 games and kicked 20 goals. He has also played for Hull’s Reserves team.
