EPL ICE HOCKEY:
Saturday:
Slough Jets 2 Manchester Phoenix 4
Sunday:
Telford Tigers 5 Manchester Phoenix 8
Manchester Phoenix moved level on points with third placed Slough Jets with two wins on the road over the weekend.
On Saturday at The Hangar, Phoenix banished the memories of the horrendous 9-0 defeat by the Jets in early December with a strong road game against Slough, and with goals from Ciaran Long, Juraj Faith, Ryan Johnson and Jaroslav Spelda
And on Sunday this was followed by an exciting, goal-riddled match which ended with a win for Phoenix and gave the team a four point weekend on the road.
The Phoenix goalscorers were Martin Cingel (2), Jaroslav Spelda (2), Juraj Faith (2), Ciaran Long and Stephen Wallace.
Phoenix coach Tony Hand said: "I thought the guys played very well and thoroughly deserved the wins. Stephen Fone kept us in the game in the first ten minutes against Slough and I thought we had a great second period. Great performances and I am very happy to take the points out of two difficult barns."
