10 arrests after soccer brawl

FIVE men from Wigan have been arrested following a train station brawl, which left a man blind in one eye.

A group of football yobs from rival Premiership clubs Wigan Athletic and Bolton Wanderers were caught fighting on CCTV cameras while waiting for a train at Wigan Wallgate station on April 15.

A 26-year-old man from Bolton has now been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and grievous bodily harm.

Four other men have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.

Five men from Wigan have also been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.

Violence flared as Wanderers fans boarded the train at Bolton station after the team's match against Chelsea at the Reebok Stadium.

Wigan fans were already on the train after returning from their side's match at Newcastle.

Metal poles and bottles were used as weapons as violence spilled from the train on to the platform in Wigan at 10.30pm.

A ticket office window was smashed during the 10-minute rampage through the booking hall.

A 35-year-old man from Wigan lost the sight in one eye after being injured in the violence.
