Former Blackburn Rovers manager Graeme Souness is being tipped to take over at Wigan Athletic after Chris Hutchings was sacked today.
Hutchings, who made a solid start to his managerial career at the JJB Stadium, has watched his side slump into the relegation zone following Saturday's defeat at home to Chelsea.
It is understood chairman Dave Whelan could turn to Souness, who has also been linked to the vacant Republic of Ireland job.
