Three youths have been charged following a robbery at Manchester City Football Club's stadium.

A group of up to six youths forced their way into the Eastlands stadium on Rowsley Street at about 9.50pm on March 17by prising apart the magnetic doors on one of the gates.

Once inside, the gang went into one of the public bars in the stadium and stole a number of bottles of spirits.

They were then disturbed walking around the upper level of the stadium by the club's security staff who immediately contacted police. The gang were chased out of the stadium and split up into two groups - one seen heading towards a nearby Asda and the other towards Ashton New Road.

Three boys aged, 14, 16 and 17, were later arrested on suspicion of burglary. The three were charged on Saturday and will appear at Manchester City Youth Court on Tuesday .
