Blackburn Rovers denied in approach for McKinlay
1:16pm Monday 22nd October 2012 in Sport
BLACKBURN Rovers have seen an approach for Billy McKinlay turned down by Fulham.
Rovers are interested in making the Scot their new boss as they continue to seek a replacement for Steve Kean.
McKinlay played for Rovers between 1995 and 2000 and is currently on the coaching staff at Fulham, as well as working as assistant manager to Michael O'Neill with Northern Ireland.

Why don't they just offer the job to Michel Salgado. At least he gives a **** about the club.

Just like Sherwood he has little managerial experience so I cannot understand why the Board are interested in him?
What has happened to the likes of Schuster,Clemente etc managers who have worked at the very top level.
Is it the Scottish mafia connection?
Has McKinlay any connection with our favourite football agent?
I am sure that the vast majority of fans would be disappointed with such an appointment and thats an understatement.
24 days and counting - the search for a new manager is becoming a farce.
Will Venkys ever learn?
Todays Daily Star says that Kean is claiming £1.5M for constructive dismissal - so perhaps the club are pursuing a cheap option.

I would not take Shearer personally, I would rather have someone experienced but Shearer is better than McKinlay.
If McKinlay gets the job it would be so deflating.
At least Shearer would lift some if not all the crowd and I imagine he would lift the players as well
Murphy will be over the moon as he knows his place in the team would be safe.
Another negative from what we have seen to date.

Tell us why, exactly he is the best man for the job ?
What, er, cos he used to live in Whalley ?
He knows his own way to Brockall ?
He's Steve Keans mate ?
He's Scottish ?
He's got SEM as his agents ?
Wow - yes, sounds like the best possible candidate for the job and his SK/JA connections (out of the ENTIRE world of football) are just (yet another) COINCIDENCE.

And promptly bombed him out of the Club
I don't know whether McKinlay or Sherwood would do a good job and neither do any of you.
All I would say is that how come both Spurs and Fulham have denied permission to speak to them? Could it be that their current employers actually know more than you lot and beleive that they are quality people and that they don't want to lose them? Just a thought.

This is showing the worst management protocols I can think of however who are the ones making their mouths go.
If we have decided to speak to McKinlay surely only three or four people should be party to that conversation
Who is leaking all the news for as you say anymore and the one who gets the job will feel completely isolated.
As for Sherwood after such a protracted period of time I would not even entertain him. If he had Passionately wanted the job he would have given Spurs an ultimatum or even insisted on talking to us. Obviously does not want it enough, no good for us.
As for the leaks the press were onto McKinlay last week so I would not be surprised if the leaks are from our end which is inexcusable
Highlights the truly inept role of our so called press adviser global adviser and directors.
If Venkys have entrusted them to sort it out then might be interesting as to how they view the fiasco unfolding around them.

Saturday afternoons are no longer the highlight of the week, I didn't really care if we won or lost, just that we tried, pulled in the right direction and could say who we supported with pride, that's all gone. I squirm when people ask me now, I didn't care when we last got relegated, I actually enjoyed the feeling of doing well in a division again and could see the positive re-building that went on, it made promotion and the Worthington Cup win etc feel all the sweeter. We will languish in this division for years now, in fact we will end up just like Derby on Saturday, plodding along.
If Venky's can't see what will happen if they appoint Kean Version 2 god help us.

I don't know if McKinley would be a good manager but the danger is it leaves the spectre of Hans Christian hanging over the club.Fans will ask again who owns the club their will be no trust and we will be cuaght up again in the nightmare that was Steve Kean.

The chances of us getting a top name manager are slim, despite what SS might claim. I would actually rather have someone with some attachment to Rovers than someone who hasn't so would Sherwood, McKinlay or Shearer really be so bad ? I wouldn't mind any of those three if they could also come with some kind of mentor as in Dalglish or someone of that ilk.
Bottom line, I wanted Kean out because the lies he peddled and whoever the next manager is, I will get behind him and all "real" supporters will do the same.
Names such as Schuster, Clemente for example - both have managed at the very top.
We appear to be intent on making the same mistake as last time - appointing a coach with no managerial experience.
Can anyone remember the rumours around Blackburn on how McKinlay got his bad injury that kept him out for approx 12 months - I do.
He's definitely not for me.
He had a groin tear that took a long time to heal. When he was fit he had a fallout with Souness who stuck him in the reserves until he got a move to Bradford who were in the Prem. But hey ... if you know different then let's hear it.

Blackburn Rovers plans to appoint ex Rover and Fulham coach Billy McKinlay (pic above) are a grave mistake.
McKinlay is a close friend of Steve Kean, having worked together at Fulham and being fellow Scott’s. You cannot appoint anyone associated with Kean, the supporter’s wounds run to deep. Even appointing a Scotsman at this stage is a dubious decision.
To also link Chris Sutton As a possible part of a new management team is a ‘double whammy’ mistake.
Sutton was a firm supporter of Kean and would not have a wrong word said against him. Sutton is also not a popular character. Where ever he has been, Chris Sutton has found it difficult to connect with people both inside and outside the dressing room. His management career is a disaster (ask Lincoln City) although a prolific striker, Sutton has made few friends amongst his team mates, his presence at Ewood Park would be a grave mistake and hark back to the dark days of Steve Kean.
It would appear to me that “to many cooks spoil the broth” at Ewood Park. Shebby Singh wants certain people to succeed Kean. Chief Executive Derek Shaw, wants others. The two cannot agree on anything and with Kean supporter and confidant Paul Agnew, Director of operations, in the back ground, Singh is receiving little support.
Singh wants Tim Sherwood, an excellent choice, and is determined to still pursue his target despite Spurs refusal to give permission to approach Sherwood. The deal with Sherwood’s agent regarding contract and remit etc are done and dusted. But Singh needs one final push to land Sherwood but is not been given the backing and support he needs.
Rover’s are in danger of losing the feel good factor and euphoria following Kean’s departure if they do not show a united front and act positively.
It is all becoming a bit of a farce with just about everyone possible being associated with the vacant management’s position.
Shebby Singh would have turned to Alan Shearer, if attempts to land Sherwood fail. But Derek Shaw has blocked the move on the grounds that Shearers presence at Ewood would be to high profile and deflect from the task of winning promotion, allied with his inexperience of coaching and managing, Shaw feels Shearer has spent to long on the Match of the Day couch. Maybe Shaw is right, but one thing is for sure Shearer would put ‘bums on seats’ and give Rovers a massive media profile.
The upsurge in support since Kean’s departure, estimated at 4,000 fans returning to the club, must be built upon.
I don’t think the appointment of Fulham’s coach Billy McKinlay will do that.
If Rovers are to appoint someone of that calibre then no one better than ex Rover Keith Hill of Barnsley. He would jump at the chance having worked miracles at the Yorkshire Club on no money at all. My choice many months ago was Lee Clarke now at Birmingham also working without any financial backing. Both these managers are big names of the future.
But the bottom line is that Rovers must avoid anyone even slightly connected with Kean or the club will die a swift death.

Three and a half weeks and we are getting round to the club of our second choice rejecting our approach - and I like Billy McKinlay, a proper footballer, who may make a good manager, but who has no experience of management, yet. I would rather have him than some of the old big names who many would like, but whose hunger I doubt. Anyway, if we do appoint someone in the next couple of days, they know that, at best, they were our third choice. You couldn't make it up - I suggest that Venkys make some money by selling what has been happening, as a pitch for a new comedy series.

They have recouped their initial stake in the club and are happy to poke fun at the supporters and watch them argue with the scraps of information tossed out.
There will be no revival intil the dregs who were brought in by the latest owners are history. Come on FA get your fit and proper tests tested. Shame on you.
They should not be allowed near a decent football club for such destruction.
The problems with Kean are as insignificant as a pimple on the backside compared to the rest of the missfits.

Fulham have done quite well during that time and are established in the prem.
Also he only just got recruited this month I think, as the Northern Ireland assistant manager. Not sure how that will pan out if he gets the Rovers job.
Just have to wait and see if he is the chosen one now....maybe not who most of us would have wanted or picked but definitely a lot better than a lot that have been mentioned.

Are you proud at the way you have run Rovers in the 23 months you have been in control and what lessons have you learnt?
As a supporter I would say your answer is
1. Absolutely nothing about Football - you have been taken in by so called experts so that the business you bought is now worth substanially less
2. You have wasted money on
contracts and agents fees.
3. You have alienated supporters by your lack of contingencyy planning - lurching from crisis to crisis. Another example being the Manager was dismissed three weeks ago and you still havent permission to talk to a replacement - Sherwood McKinley - sorry it is beyond a joke - Bolton have managed it why not you?
I fear the club is such a joke that no self respecting Manager will want to be associated with Venkys and their hangers on

As for McKinlay I'm sure he has 1000% more of a clue about football than idiot Kean. But, same situation as Sherwood, no experience and Venky's amazingly gambling everything on unknown. The passing football they crave (bizarre post-hoc justification for removing Big Sam) - is that something Sherwood or McKinlay have a track record of delivering.....no, thought not.
All that said, whoever is brought in we need to give them a chance. It's got to be better than what we have. Kean is out - no more boycotts.

"Venkatesh Rao, co-owner of Blackburn Rovers, insisted that former manager Steve Kean was handed a long rope, before he eventually resigned.
On being asked at a press conference as to whether Kean was at the hot seat for far too long before deciding to put in his papers, Rao said,”It is a very ticklish question. I don’t think Kean’s departure has come too late. When he left, we had only lost 1 game this season I believe, and we were doing well. The pressure to do well was high on him, and eventually it got to him, and he resigned.”
The owners came in for criticism by fans for some of their decisions last season. Rao though feels that the club has learnt hard lessons from their relegation, and the side is in much better shape now.
He stated, “4-to-5% of people are never satisfied. They always want changes at the club, but as fans they have the right to express their wishes.”
“For us it is an ongoing learning process as a team. We are proud of the investments we have made and are analyzing everything as well as streamlining the club. We have a global advisor now, and are trying to improve,” he added.
Kean could not cope with the pressure to do well...
The Managing Director of Venky’s conceded that relegation meant that financial issues needed to be addressed. He confessed, “Financial implications of relegation are of course huge. But we have the resources and the willpower to cover up these losses. If you make such huge investments, you have to be prepared for such eventualities.”
The owners though, have no special plans to finally get the fans back on their side.
“I think no other club has invested as much in the Championship, as we have. We are nobody to win them (the fans) back, but results will help us move forward,” he concluded.
Rao though, refused to give anything away, when it came to revealing the potential contenders for the managerial vacancy at Blackburn Rovers’. He informed, “Actually we are having a good look at the options and David (Lowe) will agree that it is not an easy job. In the next fortnight, we will finalize the appointment. There were some early contenders, but it was not possible to get through to them.”

Questioned about their intention to open an academy in the country, plans for which had been declared last year, Rao revealed, “Yes, progress has been made on that front. The model and plans for that academy are in place, though the exact venue is yet to be decided. The hunt for man power is also currently on and we are taking it a step at a time.”
Answering why they didn’t invest in the I-League instead of Blackburn Rovers, Rao stated, “Well people often ask me why we did not invest in the Indian Premier League (IPL) or other such ventures. Venky’s as such have always looked for quality. Blackburn is a prestigious club, one of the oldest in England and I think it is a matter of great pride for Indians that we own it. Therefore it also important that we return to the Premier League in the first attempt, after which perhaps we could return for a tour of India.”
“Globally too, owning Blackburn has had a wonderful impact and I thank Balaji Rao as well as Anuradha Desai for their passion to buy the club. We have not extracted any profits from the club, but it has helped us in other ways. Places as far away as Vietnam now link the name of Venky’s with Blackburn and it helps us in the business sense. Plus the name we have earned since owning Blackburn Rovers, we would have otherwise not have received in 50 years,” he further pointed out."

speedie_rovers_legenGetting rid of Kean was one thing and I believe that the boycott got rid of him in the end. Getting rid of Venkys is another matter. I don't believe that boycotts will work on them so you just have to make up your mind ..... support the team under a new manager or don't. It is actually as simlpe as that. I for one am back on board having not been to a match since the Bolton match. For those who still refuse to return, fair enough but don't try and drag the rest of us along with you. By all means return when we get back to the Prem, you'll all be welcome to join us.

I think there are a lot of people who need a reality check. We are not a Premier League Club, we are a mid-table Championship Club ... FACT !!
As a result of the injury he was out of action for approx 12 months.
Between 1995 and 2000 he played just 91 times for Blackburn Rovers -
I'm sure that even you would admit that was a poor return from a player who cost us £1.7M and was a Scottish International.
With his connections to Steve Kean / SEM, and the drinking culture we should keep well away.
I also disagree that we should be looking for someone with a previous connection to Ewood.
A new broom is required, complete with a new backroom team and a new fitness coach.

We have had three coaches who have moved up to manager, ALL of which have failed.
McKinley and Sherwood may just be very good at what they are doing, hence Fulham and Spurs don't want them to go; why make a problem for themselves?
Problem is, what they are doing is not managing a football club.

Do you seriously think Shearer will give up an easy salary on the couch to be told what to do by Venkys and Shabby ? or any other serious manager or would be manager ?
Everyone in football knows what a shower are running Rovers, it's going to be a desperate man that takes the job - desperate as in out-of-work, or desperate to get a manager position, do his best until the club collapses, then move on and putting his time at Ewood down to experience.

There only needs to be one essential criteria for the Manager's job: "must have at least 12 months experience of managing a football team".
So Shebby, out of the 30 applicants, short list to the above criteria.
Or can't you do that because there are no experienced applicants, and really you just all talk and no substance.

Absolutely…..usual
ly in the lower leagues/non league…..not at ex-premier champions with supposedly the biggest budget in the championship…..no coincidence Billy is only quoted for the Rovers job whereas most other candidates on skybet have odds for all the other vacant managerial posts hmmm
Yes we are in the championship however just having spent a fortune that other clubs would give their right arm for. The fact that the past three / four transfer windows have been a disaster due to the departed idiots spending policy is not any part of a new managers record. In fact they will have a right job on their hands sorting it all out with the no doubt lucrative contracts some of them will be on.
We are a FANTASTIC club that many managers would relish taking on (as borne out by the recent job applications) as most of the chances of getting a Premier League managers post are pretty scant at best.
There is only about 10 realistic jobs going in the Premier League for so called ambitious managers to aspire to hence many of them having to cut their teeth with league 1- 2 and conference sides, so who are the next best influential crop of jobs or clubs for ambitious (young) managers?
At this moment in time (crucial next seven months) we are top of the tree for these folks - So yes our REALISTIC expectations of a fantastic, experienced, ambitious, hungry, high profile manger IS something that we should expect.
If the next sevens months turn out how we all wish them to then we will keep this standing if not we may not be as high profile in subsequent years however will still be a club that has so much tradition history and fantastic facilities that managers will always wish to be a part of it.
My one plea would be that the Venkys begin to truly realise this fact and never sell off our treasured training facilities that players and managers alike must relish turning up to every day.

And Alan Shearer is available and willing to take over the Blackburn job
Billy Mc Kinlay is odds on for the job
And Alan Shearer is available and willing to take over the Blackburn job
Blackburn conceded an 89th min equaliser on Saturday
And Alan Shearer is available and willing to take over the Blackburn job
Steve Kean announces he is suing for £1.5. (He WILL win)
And Alan Shearer is available and willing to take over the Blackburn job
So everything is rosy at Ewood.
(PS: Alan Shearer wants a job you know?)
Yes they could (and should) have sacked him and yes he was lucky to be in a job.
But the fact remains he was in a job and very much un-sacked. All Kean will have to do is demonstrate there was some interference with team selection - which there probably was from Shabby at some point - or that lies were told to him by his superiors (and it's not hard to imagine that they were)
Then of course there was Shebby's shameful display at the fans meeting. a judge will take one look at that - Shebby encouraging fans to laugh at the incumbent manager- and he will instantly find in Kean's favour. (The fans asked for that meeting remember)
What I will find really interesting is hearing a public case where all the dirty linen is aired. For instance, was he under orders not to select players like Salgado whose contracts Venky's didn't want to pay up?
Wonder if we'll ever get to see one?

Considering he had about a year left on an alleged £25 -£30k a week contract, £1.5 mill does not seem that much more than the compensation he would have received anyway.
He is a Scot though so every penny counts.
I'm sure Venkys could put up a pretty robust defence if they wanted to. The idiot Singh only gave the (since debunked) targets Kean had to achieve - nothing too unusual in that.
And a company's customers asking for a meeting with management - how is that relevant? Companies are forever conducting surveys to assess customer satisfaction etc. What better than a face to face meeting?
They could expose how Kean got the job for starters, or make a counter claim for constructive appointment as I like to describe it....then again, maybe not. Shame.
The main point is interference in team selection, something Kean had effectively agreed to when he took the job. I wonder if he will mention his own agent being the first to "interfere with team selection" - see the Williams Finn Goodman letter and the point made about third party authorities. I'd like to bet the first Kean saw of Formica and Rochina was on You Tube like the rest of us.
It'll end in an out of court settlement; these things usually do, mainly to stop the dirty linen having to be aired by both sides.

Mr French; of course Venkys want the best for their business (which isn't nearly as massive an empire as we were led to belive by the way).
My point is, can they get it, bearing in mind their total lack of knowledge in comparison to those who have tried and failed? On the evidence of the last two years, I would say that is a resounding no.
They are currently looking at coaches who Singh happens to know from other unrelated situations. This suggests they have actually no idea who to even look at otside their (his) tight little circle of buddies.
Worrying, very worrying.

We the fans realise what’s going on…pity these numpties (regime) don’t seem to grasp that we know their conniving little game…..replace like for like just with a different name…..a manager still with the same agent, possible still the same accent and most definitely a YES man that can be controlled……….
No way on earth will this regime employ a managers who’s his own man….reason they got rid of Allardyce almost straight away (admittedly I wasn’t BS biggest fan but I did realised he was a strong take no sh@ type) for some reason this regime are afraid of give full control to a manager who they can’t control/influence…
……ironically that’s the only type of manager that the fans will accept but more importantly the only type of manager that could possibly be a success………….
This regime for some stupid reason don’t seem to understand the route they’ve followed since taking ‘ownership’ doesn’t work…….please sell up before you take us further into the abyss, football club ‘ownership’ just isn’t your forte!!
Mckinaly played football at the highest level in this country and he played with passion and a bit of venom. Mckinlay and Kean are chalk and cheese.
Mckinlay has history with us, good history. Kean has bad history.

It is yet another fine mess they got us into with their indecision and frugality. The last thing we needed now was a lengthy search for a (seemingly untried and untested) manager which has predictably resulted in more fan unrest and talk of boycotts.
With unity comes strength, but with division comes fear and leaves us open to attack.
I fear that SWFC may just take advantage of all this mess tonight.

For me there is only one man and proper footballer who could galvanize the fans and the club AND play football how it should be played and thats Tugay. (true midfielder).

bornindarwenliveinnoUnbelievable! The fans are not persecuting ex players. They are just voicing their opinion as to what is the way forward for BRFC, and it is NOT ex players as managers. It is a fully experienced manager that is required to return the Rovers to the PL Maybe the experienced manager could use Sherwood, McKinley etc as understudy to be trained to take over once we were settled back in the PL. But until then nothing but a fully qualified, experienced man will do.

Dear Sam,
It is many, many, years since I first met you at Preston North End, when you were coach to manager John Beck, (early nineties). I signed a loan player from you, mid fielder David Ayres, for the club I was manager of at the time.
I found you a pleasant amicable person then and still do.
So it is with a great deal of pleasure I can finally say MISSION ACCOMPLISHED, so far as the despicable Steve Kean is concerned.
It has taken 22 long months to get rid of the man who destroyed Blackburn Rovers football club. Not that it is of any real concern to you Sam, you have moved on.
But even so it must give you a smug feeling of satisfaction that the decision to sack you has been proven a disaster of enormous proportions.
Kean has gone because of ‘FAN POWER’. The tumbling attendances did for him in the end.
Rovers average attendance when you left the club in December 2010 was 24,999. Kean decimated that figure and lost almost HALF the fan base coming through the turn styles in just under 2 years, unprecedented in the history of any football club.
Ironically the only man who saw through Kean at Ewood and had the courage to speak out was newly appointed Director of Football, Shebby Singh, (forget Global Advisor) he is to all intense and purposes Director of Football.
Appointed in June, it took Singh a few short weeks to take stock of the situation and more importantly come to the conclusion that Kean was all “Smoke and Mirrors” and without substance. Something ‘Reg’ has been telling Mrs Anuradha Desai for the better part of two years.
All credit to Shebby Singh, he assessed the situation and acted. Recommending to Desai that Kean be sacked. Not that she took any notice of him, only prolonging Kean’s tenure by announcing his Management ship was being monitored – PATHETIC.
However Singh had sown the seeds of doubt and Kean was on his way. Desai’s refusal to take action gave Kean the opportunity to resign, on advice of his advisors Jerome Anderson and Co and sue for constructive dismissal. Desai could have sacked him and under the terms of his contract paid in the region of £300,000 in settlement (not bad for being a absolute failure). Instead Kean could profit by up to £2 million. SERVES DESAI RIGHT. She was warned about Kean and what he would do months ago on this website. Once again ‘REG’ has been proven right.
However Sam you have turned West Ham Around just as you did with the Rovers. On your arrival in December 2008 to replace Paul Ince, we had just 13 points from 17 Premiership games and lay in 19th position. You steadied the ship and made us into a mid table Premiership team. No chance of relegation whilst you were in charge.
You were pretty scathing in your comments regarding Blackburn Rovers when we were relegated. Cannot say I blame you. But don’t blame the fans, they did not wish to see you sacked, although some people are never satisfied no matter what you achieve.
Mrs Anuradha Desai, Venkatesh and Balaji Rao owe you and the supporters a public apology for your sacking – until that arrives we can never fully move on. But I am not holding my breath.
I hope you are successful in your legal action to sue both Kean and the Rao family, for Kean’s despicable and unsubstantiated comments caught on camera that Desai sacked you for “being a f*****g crook”. Don’t let Kean get away with that one Sam. It tarnishes your name and mud sticks. Hopefully you will relieve him of any compensation monies he receives from the Rovers. This man must not profit from his failures.
Sam you know and I know that you were sacked in a conspiracy involving Venky’s advisor Jerome ( the man who ruined Blackburn Rovers) Anderson and Steve ( the man who cannot win football matches) Kean.
As is well documented on my site over the past 22 months, Anderson wanted you out and his client Kean in. so he can manipulate transfer policy, bring in his own players and fleece the Rao family. The signing of his son Myles Anderson is a case in point.
You Sam were the victim of this conspiracy closely followed by Chairman John Wiliams and Chief executive Tom Finn.
Blackburn Rovers and their supporters have suffered ever since and the Venky group have bled money. Only Shebby Singh has had the common sense to see through this charade.
Sam I think you will go on to greater things, you will be an enormous success at West Ham and possibly go on to succeed Roy Hodgson as England Manager or at least some International calling. I hope you do, you deserve it.
Don’t think to badly of Rovers supporters, they were fooled by the devious Kean. A kindly word from you in their direction in the future would not go amiss.
Good luck and best wishes till we meet again.
Reg.

Shabby Singh is receiving a bad press and is a figure of fun for most of the National newspapers.
NOT SO. So far as I am concerned if a man can see what was obvious to everyone but the Rovers owners and the Blackburn Rovers Directors, after such a short time at the club then he is a far wise-r man than they and worth his weight in gold.
It did not take Singh long to realise that Kean was poison. Shebby Singh has become a cult figure and hero to Rovers followers, much to the annoyance of Chief Executive Derek Shaw and Operations Director Paul (Kean has me in his back pocket) Agnew.
Mrs Desai has never took the slightest notice of anything I have ever told her, much to her cost. I plead to Mrs Desai and brothers Venkatesh and Balaji Rao to take away the ridiculous title of Global Advisor from Shebby Singh and install him officially as Director of Football overlooking football matters.
Shebby Singh is not everyone’s ‘cup of tea’ and his ‘gaff’ prone. Shebby unfortunately opens his mouth before engaging brain. But he is a breath of fresh air to Ewood Park. He speaks his mind, does not tell lies, engages with fans and is open and honest. The exact opposite to the devious Kean. Long may Shebby walk the corridors of Ewood Park.
The involvement of Chief Executive Derek Shaw and Kean supporter Paul Agnew in choosing a new manager is clouding the issue.
Give Shebby Singh his head and the authority to make the appointment of his choice. The fans love him and that is priceless.
Do not lose the bond Shebby has forged with the fans it is the Rovers only hope of salvation.
The team are now 5 points adrift from where they should be. Not a disaster yet. History tells us you need to average 2 points per game to win automatic promotion into the Premiership.
Rovers cannot lose any more ground, this is a good competitive league. Unfortunately the present Rovers squad do not look up to it at the moment.
Giving Kean 12 million pounds to spend was a grave mistake with his scatter gun transfer policy (Jordon Rhodes apart). I was against it at from the start and said Kean should not be given any more money to waist. A new manager in May should have been given those funds, Kean as usual as just squandered it.
Back Shebby Singh and let him appoint our new manager without any interference.
To digress I particular liked his comment when interviewed by Neil Ashton of the Daily Mail. Walking over to Steve Kean’s old desk at Blackburn’s training ground Singh points to a motivational magazine tribute to Sir Alex Ferguson pinned up on Kean’s old notice board. “What an interesting article – pity he didn’t put any of Fergusons method’s into practice”, said the mischievous Singh.
That is the beauty of Sigh, every conversation, no matter how serious or light hearted, always has a sting in the tail.
I love him, and so do the Rovers fans. Long may he reign, he is the one good decision Venky’s have made since their takeover.

Footnote:
Blackburn Rovers please take note.
Bolton Wonderers have acted swiftly and decisively by appointing 38 year old Dougie Freeman from Crystal Palace as their new manager. An excellent choice. Rovers need to act swiftly to appoint a new manager to capitalise on the feel good factor and euphoria following Kean’s departure or the momentum will be lost.

This club needs a hard drinking Scot who can successfully drink 14 pints and gamble ferociously with other people's life savings.
