FULL TIME: Nottingham Forest 0 Blackburn Rovers 0
9:41pm Wednesday 3rd October 2012 in Sport
BLACKBURN Rovers were held to a goalless draw at Nottingham Forest in the Championship tonight.
Rovers lined up in a 3-5-1-1 formation - with Scott Dann, Grant Hanley and Gael Givet all playing as centre backs – and Nuno Gomes saw an early shot saved by Lee Camp after collecting a lay-off from Jordan Rhodes.
Paul Robinson then had to be alert just before half time to keep out a deflected effort from Lewis McGugan at the other end.
Robinson had to deny Henri Lansbury after the interval, with Rovers introducing Colin Kazim-Richards from the bench on his return after more than a month out injured.
But Billy Sharp had a fine chance to break the deadlock for Forest, only to fire wide.
The match produced few other chances though, although Rovers felt they should have had a penalty when Jordan Rhodes went down.
Rovers: Paul Robinson; Scott Dann, Grant Hanley, Gael Givet; Bradley Orr, Jason Lowe, Danny Murphy, Mauro Formica, Martin Olsson; Nuno Gomes (Colin Kazim-Richards 63), Jordan Rhodes (David Dunn 86). Subs not used: Jake Kean, Bruno Ribeiro, Morten Gamst Pedersen, Fabio Nunes, Ruben Rochina.
Attendance: 18,748.

Probably best result. No good for Black's prospects of becoming manager. But at least a point for team, plus CLEAN sheet. Now let's get an experienced manager in SOON!

The clown has left us with an emperor
with no clothes as venky's left us alone with a grinning abuser who treated us no better than the world's first DJ treated his young female fans as it 'appens guys and gals.
Taking the positives, however, we have some of the best individual players in the league.
Venky's owe it to us to appoint a manager who can reverse the damage and give us an excellent chance of promotion.
If they again fail us in this then it is incumbent on us all to ensure that our owners are left with the same tattered reputation that will befall the cigar smoking shell suited one.
Now then, now then, now then - how's about that then, Shebby?

I am happy that David Dunn get few mts to play. I feel we should give chance to Rochina, Is Black is not confident on him ?
Attacking football we need to adapt to get more goals, If we do this defence and get draw all the matchs dosen't show as a champions, so get more tactical game plan and adopt it with sitivation soon to win matchs. we are a big club, now show the power of players we have in hour ewood.
A strong Experianced manager is necessary as soon as possible and hope Eric will be ok with that, no ego to carry over from such appointment. If we delay the appointment the players balance will affect, they become more lazy inside to do drills and match fitness.
Good Luck to next match.

It s creates very little going forward yes it's a clean sheet, but you ain't going to be in the final shake up at the end of the season, to get promotion in this league you need at least 17 points out of every 27
That's
5 wins + a couple of draws every 9 games
As the table shows there's half a dozen at least on that target already
So getting 2 points out off 9 is nowhere near
We are playing mid table teams ,and the points return simply isn't good enough

Sadly I think I've learnt 3 things:
1) that there probably wasn't much worth writing about
2) whoever is appointed the next manager our fans will still be highly divided
3) the education system in Burnley is still producing illiterate peasants.
Things can get better, here's hoping the Wolves match will start to restore some pride, both on the pitch and in the crowd. Although I doubt I'll ever see an intelligent dingle.

Went to my first game for months last night and as I thought, Black just carried on with the same old Kean rubbish. He had a chance to make his mark by shaking the team up but after the opening 30 minutes there was only one team going to win the game. Not a single player was better than average.

But except for the 1st 40 mins we were under the cosh.
1st league game I've see this season-I refused to legitimise kean by going!
Thoughts on performance-
defence still disorganised/unfit/g
ood to see 2 "up front" yet they had to feed on scraps/too often the ball does not go forward quickly enough-lack of confdence or lack of pace of midfielders?/Murphy?
??????? over rated from this viewing. On this showing there is not enough wit or fight to see promotion. If were a Forest fan I'd despair that they could not beat us.
Result? Get a manager in quickly with experience and the ability to- organise defence-team in general/
get them fit/
instil fight +desire to win!
Will venkys want such a manager and give him the funds?
Just my opinion.
There is much to work on after leaving kean in charge for so long.
ps-the stewards were great-friendly/helpf
ul. A contrast to the gangs of intimidating thugs in the darwen end last year. And a pat on the back to the rovers fans.Great support. Are the rifts healing? It was not nice at accrington pre season being confronted by 2 morons because I expressed displeasure at kean.

Olsson reluctant to use his pace going forward which suggested to me that he's carrying an injury, but lightning quick when he did attack. Orr, I'll simply say he's not the best full back to grace that position for BRFC, and leave it at that.
Lowe, Murphy and Formica were all weak and failed to dominate anywhere in midfield. If that was one of Murphy's better games, then don't bother ordering any champagne for an end of season party.
The front two had no service of note and had to scrap for everything.
I think Black did ok considering the players he has. Kid yourselves not, this is not a good team and a new manager will need to bring players into the midfield and defence (quite where the money comes from I don't know), because some of those on display last night are simply not good enough to get us promotion.
It will get better I feel as the players certainly have the will and desire to succeed, no complaints on that score.
Get down Ewood on Saturday.

Our best player from a few games ago, Nunes, did not feature. Our most creative talent Rochina, who has impressed when he has played did not feature. Its simply not fair on Rochina, what must he do to get a place in the team. He gives the ball away far less than Murhpy, Lowe, Orr .....
Formica only players well down the middle, with other players around him who can pass the ball, whats the point passing the ball to Murhpy or Lowe, probably a 30% chance of getting it back. With Rochina, and Nunes, they will be playing nice football and passing the ball round.
