BLACKBURN Rovers were held to a goalless draw at Nottingham Forest in the Championship tonight.
Rovers lined up in a 3-5-1-1 formation - with Scott Dann, Grant Hanley and Gael Givet all playing as centre backs – and Nuno Gomes saw an early shot saved by Lee Camp after collecting a lay-off from Jordan Rhodes.
Paul Robinson then had to be alert just before half time to keep out a deflected effort from Lewis McGugan at the other end.
Robinson had to deny Henri Lansbury after the interval, with Rovers introducing Colin Kazim-Richards from the bench on his return after more than a month out injured.
But Billy Sharp had a fine chance to break the deadlock for Forest, only to fire wide.
The match produced few other chances though, although Rovers felt they should have had a penalty when Jordan Rhodes went down.
Rovers: Paul Robinson; Scott Dann, Grant Hanley, Gael Givet; Bradley Orr, Jason Lowe, Danny Murphy, Mauro Formica, Martin Olsson; Nuno Gomes (Colin Kazim-Richards 63), Jordan Rhodes (David Dunn 86). Subs not used: Jake Kean, Bruno Ribeiro, Morten Gamst Pedersen, Fabio Nunes, Ruben Rochina.
Attendance: 18,748.
