GAEL Givet is in the Blackburn Rovers squad for this evening’s Championship trip to Nottingham Forest after holding clear the air talks earlier this week.

The Frenchman was substituted at half-time on Saturday after not ‘being in the right frame of mind’ to continue but, after talks with the players and boss Eric Black, is expected to start at the City Ground.

Black, in temporary charge, declined not to comment in detail on Saturday’s events, with Givet understood to have had an on-field bust-up with a couple of players.

He admitted the Frenchman’s actions were wrong but insisted the incident was now history.

He said: “Gael is absolutely fine. I have spoken to him, he came to see me, we have spoken about what happened and I am happy with how it has been resolved.

“He has spoken to the players and we will move forward. It is dealt with and we move on. It was an internal personal thing for him, which I fully respect. He explained it to me, I am happy with the explanation he has given me and it is history.

“Gael will be the first to say he did something he should have not have done, he is fully aware of that.

“However he is an emotional individual, wants to win games, plays with his heart on his sleeve, he has done exceptionally well for the team.”
