BLACKBURN Rovers will receive an initial fee of £3m for Junior Hoilett after they finally agreed a deal with QPR for the Canadian.
Hoilett joined QPR this summer following the expiry of his contract at Ewood Park, but Rovers were still entitled to a fee because he was under the age of 24.
The two clubs were initially unable to agree a price and, had negotiations failed, a fee would have been set by the Professional Football Compensation Committee.
Steve Kean had hoped to secure close to the £6m Chelsea paid Manchester City for Daniel Sturridge in 2009 under similar circumstances, but talks between the two clubs have now seen Rovers accept a lesser fee.
QPR will pay an initial price of £3m, rising to £4m depending on appearances.
Rovers will also be entitled to a percentage of any profit QPR make on Hoilett should they sell him in the future.
