Only top of the league because of the strikers, if it wasn't for them where might Rovers be? the defence is useless Kean may have just cottoned on to it but he probably can't do much with them now as he's a useless manager.

ROVERS EYEING CARRACHER
Sources close to Ewood Park suggest that the Rovers are looking closely at Liverpool’s Jamie Carracher (pic above) as a possible successor to Steve Kean to take the Ewood hot seat.
With attendances plummeting because of Kean’s continued presence at the club Rovers hierarchy feel it is not a situation they can allow to continue indefinitely.
With Rovers having gone top of the N Power Championship table on Saturday, the attendance at Tuesday’s home game v Barnsley is crucial to the future of Kean. Also taking into account the home debut of £8 Million striker Jordan Rhodes, the Rovers hierarchy expect an improvement on the 13,500 attendances at Rovers previous 2 home games.
Despite Kean’s denials that he has not been set a points target as reported in this week’s press and that “someone was mischief making” Kean’s body language at Bristol City on Saturday told a different story. Kean was nervy, edgy and agitated throughout, and his post-match interview was tinged with a touch of modesty and relief. Not the usual bullish, cocky, over confident Kean.
The Rovers hierarchy, now they have men who understand football on the board of directors, i.e. Shebby Singh and Derek Shaw, are fully aware that even though Rovers are unbeaten during the first 5 opening games they could just as easily have lost all 5 , drawn all 5, or won all 5. Rover’s performances have been unconvincing and laced with a little more than good luck.
However, top of the table is top of the table and puts Kean in a position of immense strength. If the ‘wheels’ come off, as many suspect they will, Rovers want a ready-made replacement and Carracher is being seriously considered.
Seventeen years as a player at Liverpool, Carracher is in the last year of his contract and the 34 year old Liverpool icon is unlikely to be offered another. Carracher has made it known he would like to go into football management eventually. He would probably jump at the chance to start his management career with a club as prestigious as Blackburn Rovers.
Carracher is high profile worldwide, which appeals to the Venky’s who want to repair the damage done by Kean to their global brand.
Apart from playing at the very top level both for Liverpool and England, Carracher has won many honours including Champions League Glory in 2005, plus FA Cup, Carling Cup, UEFA Cup, UEFA Super Cup Winners medals plus 38 England Caps. Carracher also made his name as a TV pundit at this year’s Euro finals.
A product of the famous Anfield boot room, Jamie Carracher oozes confidence and experience. He would be a rooky manager and it would be a gamble by the Rover’s. They took a gamble with Kean and it failed. However Mark Hughes was handed his first League management job at Blackburn and proved to be a big success.

I know for a fact that Singh and Shaw are looking for a new manager and I have it from the horses mouth that a local manager (north west based ) HAS had a meeting with both where they sounded him out, clearly Singh does not like Kean and Shaw understands the issues with him staying, 1 slip up is all it will take to get rid, let's hope it is soon then we can get back to Ewood and enjoy our football again.

A few people are missing the point I think. The overall quality of the back four is not as good as it could have been given the amount of money spent on the forwards and midfield, which is still well shy of the amount of money taken for the players that have left. So in that respect there is a problem!

It's fairly common knowledge why Nelson left. He wrote a letter to Madam Desai just before Xmas last year saying that Kean should be replaced. She sent the letter to Kean and he sidelined Nelson until he could get rid. Simples !

I know for a fact that Singh and Shaw are looking for a new manager and I have it from the horses mouth that a local manager (north west based ) HAS had a meeting with both where they sounded him out, clearly Singh does not like Kean and Shaw understands the issues with him staying, 1 slip up is all it will take to get rid, let's hope it is soon then we can get back to Ewood and enjoy our football again.

Hello new supporter, I'm glad you are trying to pave a way out of shopping. Me and the other 8000 spartans will hold the fort for you whilst you're choosing a new blouse. Ewood will still be in whilst the same can't be said about your new crop top number. i thought at the start of the season i would go to the games but when im at the stadium watching a game i dont even look over at the dugout.

After spending all that money this summer on wages and transfers i fear that if we dont go up its going to be a long way back and could result in a portsmouth situation.

This is a good and sensible post rather than insulting anyone who doesn't agree with you.

We all have our own opinion as to the best way forward and we will all handle it in our own different ways

I support the team and always have done but can't let that be seen as supporting Kean and Venkys, who have dragged the good name of Blackburn Rovers through the dirt this last two years.

As for coming back to Ewood, I'll be there the day after they appoint an experienced and competent manager. Do Blackburn Rovers not deserve that?

The disaray in defence says it all.It was obvious to all last season what needed to be done and highlights the fact that Kean is not the man for the job.

I think you are speaking for a majority of Rovers fans with this post TS....On saturday at Bristol after the first few minutes of the game I never even once gave any thought about the charlatan at the side of the pitch who pretends to be our manager. It could have been SAF stood there for all I cared about what was going on 'off' the field. The Rovers team that are on the pitch are the main focus plus the goals and the wins of course. Allez les Bleus!

Everyone on here shares the same opinions, we dont like the current owners, directors or manager and we all support every player who put the shirt one (especially now keith andrews doesnt play for us).

i thought at the start of the season i would go to the games but when im at the stadium watching a game i dont even look over at the dugout.

After spending all that money this summer on wages and transfers i fear that if we dont go up its going to be a long way back and could result in a portsmouth situation.

Obviously saying "go to turf moor" is in jest but ill take that back as i wouldnt wish that on anyone. :-p

I'm not saying the stay away fans dont have a point, they clearly do and i agree 100% with everything they say however all i want is all of our fans at ewood as one getting behind the players.

The away games atmosphere has been fantastic so far this season - do you not want to be apart of an amazing atmosphere in your stadium.

I support the team and always have done but can't let that be seen as supporting Kean and Venkys, who have dragged the good name of Blackburn Rovers through the dirt this last two years.

As for coming back to Ewood, I'll be there the day after they appoint an experienced and competent manager. Do Blackburn Rovers not deserve that?

The disaray in defence says it all.It was obvious to all last season what needed to be done and highlights the fact that Kean is not the man for the job.

I think you are speaking for a majority of Rovers fans with this post TS....On saturday at Bristol after the first few minutes of the game I never even once gave any thought about the charlatan at the side of the pitch who pretends to be our manager. It could have been SAF stood there for all I cared about what was going on 'off' the field. The Rovers team that are on the pitch are the main focus plus the goals and the wins of course. well i was extremely happy clapping the rovers off the park on saturday after watching Rovers win a good three points in an exciting match that took us to top of the table. Not sure how thete is anything wrong with that for any Rovers fan. If you cant celebrate that then i think you may have lost the plot slightly....

Only top of the league because of the strikers, if it wasn't for them where might Rovers be? the defence is useless Kean may have just cottoned on to it but he probably can't do much with them now as he's a useless manager.

Whilst I recognise that results are going our way at the moment in the long term we still need to get rid of Kean. So! Could I plead with all those boycotters thinking of going to tonight's and Friday's match to think again. I feel that the Venky's will be seriously considering Kean's future if attendances don't improve during this period of good results. Let us show the Venky's that whatever the results we are not returning until Kean goes.

Are boycotters supporters? I get confused as I thought supporters or fans supported their team through thick and thin irrespective of who is the manager or the physio or club doctor or even owners who incidently have spent more than any other championship side this year to rectify their inexperience of last season.

A few people are missing the point I think. The overall quality of the back four is not as good as it could have been given the amount of money spent on the forwards and midfield, which is still well shy of the amount of money taken for the players that have left. So in that respect there is a problem!

I think you are Stan, he is far and away our best defender. Probably the only member of the back four to be brave, have positional awareness and be able to read the game. TBF he does have the odd howler but not as consistently as Dann.

Just to clarify I am a boycotter, or as I prefer "on strike": i.e. I am witholding my support as, from experience, I am acutely aware of the futility of providing that support for as long as Kean is the "manager". I am not at all worried that witholding that support will result in relegation. With the squad that Kean has had delivered to him my granny could keep us in this division, and she's been dead for a couple of years.

If those that go are enjoying the few pyhrric victories that Kean will scratch together despite conceding three goals on a regular basis, I envy your myopia. Be absolutely certain however that Steve Kean WILL NOT get this club promoted.

If after 37 years that means I am no longer a supporter then f. you, f. Kean, f. Venkys and the ship they rolled up in.

IiF the numbers are ever increasing, why are you pleading on here for support? I haven't seen any evidence of fans returning to home games. I do though see evidence that the boycotting is having some effect by the attemps from the club to sell tickets and from other fans like you who obviously feel your support alone is not enough. Surely if you have made a decision to go and the tam are top you shouldn't be bothered about anybody else?

Are you getting confused about the difference between a supporter and a fan. In my book a "supporter" shows his appreciation by supporting the team in every way i.e. financially, verbally and in spirit. The "Fan" is a "devotee of a specified amusement" and still a follower of the team but not financially. I class myself as the latter and still proud to call myself a FAN!!!!!

I know you're probably not, but why do I get the horrible nagging feeling that you actually might be real and genuine?!

Kean is hated en mass, will NEVER be accepted by the vast, vast, vast majority of fans and is nothing but sly and incompetent.

Kean is the exact opposite of 'very popular' and I have no idea what ACT is, but I'm pretty sure he's not the best at it.

Do us all a favour then and clear off. You have nothing new to say or add to the fan vs fan debate. The low attendance says it all. We do not need people constantly telling us why they are not going. Boresville, man.
